We’ve come up with a list of our 10 favourite investment books of all time.

Of course there are many other investment books we like, but we’ve narrowed this list down to those books we feel are absolute must-reads for every investor.

We feel that by reading all of these books you will get some of the best investment insights in the quickest possible time, ie. the best “bang for your buck”!

This list consists of one book on financial mindset, three books on residential property, three books on shares, two books on commercial property and one book on traditional asset allocation principles.

Eight of these books are written by Australian authors with the Australian investment context in mind.

Here they are:

– The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko (Financial Mindset)

– Don’t Sign Anything by Neil Jenman (Residential Property)

– How to Grow a Multi-Million Dollar Property Portfolio by Michael Yardney (Residential Property)

– From 0 to 260+ Properties in 7 years by Steve McKnight (Residential Property)

– Motivated Money by Peter Thornhill (Shares)

– Value.able by Roger Montgomery (Shares)

– Building Wealth Through Shares by Colin Nicholson (Shares)

– How Investing In Commercial Property Really Works by Martin Roth and Chris Lang (Commercial Property)

– Commercial Real Estate Investing by Dolf de Roos (Commercial Property, Overseas Author)

– The Intelligent Asset Allocator by William Bernstein (Traditional Asset Allocation, Overseas Author)

If you’ve read any of these books let us know your thoughts on them, and if you have your own list of “10 favourite investment books” feel free to post them below and let us compare lists!

Our investment approach is influenced to varying degrees by all of these books – as Sir Isaac Newton once said…

“If I have seen further it is only by standing on the shoulders of giants.” – Sir Isaac Newton 1675
